She is now 7 months, TODAY!

So all those people at church were right when they said "don't blink or you will miss it". She is sitting up in 3 different split positions, crawling, pulling up, eating 3 meals a day, singing, laughing, swimming, recognizing strangers, playing and all around charming our hearts every minute! Here a few pics of her in the last week.

"You ought to try this Daddy, it's relaxing.".
Notice the feet kicking and hands moving.. This child loves to swim. Watch out Michael Phelps because she qualifies in 2024. We didn't have a $500 swimsuit to train in so we just went naked!

Yep, she gets into her toybox and pulls her toys out and then dumps the toy box on her head. (If we can train her to put them up at an early age then it will be easier for us).
And this is how we find her in the mornings and after naps. She pulls herself to a standing position glaring at the door awaiting her Mommy or Daddy to rescue her. STATS: At her 6mos checkup she weighed 15.3 lbs, and was 26 1/2 inches long with the report from Dr. Amy of "she is very athletic".....

Drew Lange was born on Monday at 2:32 p.m. He came 3 weeks early but he is healthy and a cutie pie.. Avery loves Drew already and couldn't wait to start playing with him
even when he was still fresh to the world, she was trying to show him the ropes..

Cousin Allison
Praying

We went to "The Farm" a couple of weeks ago and had a great time with our family. I took a few pictures while Avery was in a photo shoot with our cousin Rebecca. My pictures are amateur compared to hers but, here are few of her at a flower field near the farm. She couldn't make it all the way through without sleeping, but how beautiful is this little angel?

Sometimes Friends

Get a little upset with each other when one can do more tricks than the other. Here is Sarah Avery on a play date with Maggie once again.. This time she was upset and frustrated because Maggie can sit up and play with her toys while sitting on her bum. Avery was obviously upset with herself because she couldn't do that and it just seemed so boring to be laying on her side or back or tummy for that matter playing toys with her friend.. So, Heather and I laughed about it and moved on..

The next few days proved to show that Avery didn't like not having that skill down so I found her trying to lift up her chest and move to her bottom.. Our little Avery is now sitting up! Here are a few pictures of the last play date.. Notice the upset look on Aves face in the first pic... The next picture is of the two of them in Nursery last Sunday at church.. Ahhhhh, such a delightful look on Avery's face.. Friends.. Sweet friends, spurring us on!

Baby Food

Yep, this post is about baby food. Before Avery started eating solid foods I made up my mind and decided that I would do my best to make most of her baby food at home. This is not to say that I wouldn't use baby food in a jar, I just wanted to try it on my own for two reasons.

1. Nutrition
2. Economics

I didn't know how much money it would save but I knew it would be worth the effort. Well, we are two months in to it and it is definitely saving money and I think she likes it! :)
I have two Heather friends who are also doing this, so we are going to try and do a food swap to make it a little easier on each of us. Our babies are of similiar ages and were eating foods at the same stages, NICE! So, I will attach a few pictures for you to see some of the results.. It's not all that difficult, a little time consuming and sometimes you have to recruit help.. I had Matt's help tonight because I had to have muscle power to core the pears.. BTW, the pears came from a tree in Shelby County curtousy of a person at my work. The blueberries came from Kerri's parents.

So far Avery's menu includes:
yellow squash, sweet peas, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, pears, avacado, blueberries, and peaches. And the winner of the favorite food is BUTTERNUT SQUASH.
