So thankful

This is her in her room waiting on surgery

She is always trying to figure out what is going on

This is her afterwards, what a sweet little time with her. Her face is swollen here.

Thank you everyone who has prayed for SA's surgery today and for her well being. We arrived at Children's South at 6am and to our surprise were MANY other little babies waiting for their name to be called. Thankfully, they put us in to a room rather quickly. We went over medical history and forms and such and then before we knew it, they were taking her back. Both Matt and I were doing ok until we had to give her to the nurse and WHEW was that hard. Pretty soon after Dr. Hill came into our room and told us that she did great and he ended up removing her Adenoids since they were enlarged. I had mentioned to the nurse prior to the surgery that she snored and also had a runny nose... So, they evidently needed to come out. So, he left after telling us a few care instructions.. Then what seemed like an hour went by and finally they brought us our little sweet angel.. She was VERY UPSET and had this look on her face that we had never seen and I thought I was going to lose it right then, but she was crying so hard that I just tried to hold it together and just comforted her.. She refused juice, took some formula and fell asleep on my shoulder. She slept on the way home and all the way until Noon. Woke up with a smile and wanted to eat. Then wanted to play.. That is our girl! She is back with a little tiredness, but back. We will just continue to hope and pray that the surgery will take care of all of the concerns we have had since October. She is still a little swollen but hasn't made any complaints. She is such a champ.

Here are a few pics of her this morning

Things that make us laugh but shouldn't

Notice to your left in the background is a very disgruntled almost 1 year old who has learned how to express herself. This is what she does now in some circumstances where she wants to be "heard". Daddy got her started on goldfish and gives them to her as she waits on her meal to be served. Well tonight, she didn't want her meal, she just wanted her goldfish. Look at that face!

Now, below is what happens when you give her goldfish. And furthermore, this picture was taken immediately after her screaming fit.
SA is serious about her books right now. This is what she went through to get to one of them!

There are certain things that we don't want her to touch, blinds being one of them. These are NO NO.
But she looked so cute under the curtains we just had to snap this.

Things that make us laugh

She is very flexible and is teaching us YOGA now

Her new favorite play location is her exersaucer. But underneath it.
She pulls the toys in with her and when she stands up,
her head pokes up through her seat.
"aaaww Dad, really? I don't want to get out yet"

more sleep humor

So I went to check on her and make sure she was warm and when I walked into the room, this is what I saw:

Just a few more traits she got from her Dad! (sleep positions)

I never know what I am going to see when I go in there to check on her. She is SO funny.
OH and she talks in her sleep!

All of this fun with Daddy. He gives SA her baths and they always have this much fun.

So did she even eat?

Matt has the best time with her and here is his latest cell phone video.
I stole this from his facebook post..
Please note that the little thing she does with her hand is something
that she has been doing for a week now. It's her new way to communicate.
She uses it when she is excited, frustrated, or even sad.

cute out takes

This is for real. She cracks us up with her sleeping positions. ALWAYS has her head jammed up next to the corners. And that leg is just thrown out to make this sleep time all the better. Look how big she is getting. Oh and she also has about 5 pacifiers in her crib, so to never have to cry looking for one
Notice there are no teeth in that mouth. She turns 1 on Jan. 31. I just think I captured her up in this picture.

on to stairs

Ok, on New Years day we put SA on the stairs at my parents house for the very first time. She went up a whole set of 15 stairs with two breaks and did it as if someone had shown her how to do it already. How does she do things like this? Anyways, it was so funny and I had it on video until my cell phone broke.
Alas, tonight we had another opportunity to catch this little contortionist in action. She found a step on her own at her Great Grandparents house tonight and decided to do things her own way in going down stairs. Check it out.
